Mitsubishi cars are favourites among those who value innovation and reliability. They’re built for adventure, with fantastic off-road capabilities – but they still need an annual MOT.
All that rugged terrain can take its toll, though. Getting your Mitsubishi checked and serviced regularly is the best way to keep it in top condition for as long as possible.
The MOT test is a routine but essential part of servicing your Mitsubishi, ensuring that the car meets legal requirements for safety and environmental standards.
At Harratts Mitsubishi we can get your test done while you wait. All you have to do is sit back in our lounge area with a free tea or coffee, complimentary newspapers and wifi access.
If it’s more than 3 years old you need to make sure your car gets an MOT test every 12 months, at least 28 days before the current safety certificate runs out. This is a legal requirement and there’s no ifs or buts: if you car doesn’t have a valid certificate, you’re not allowed on the roads.
A brand new Mitsubishi only needs an MOT after 3 years, starting from the date it was registered. So if you bought a new Mitsubishi on 1st February 2019, you’ll have to get an MOT test by 1st February 2022.
Although an MOT can help diagnose a number of potential issues, it’s not a comprehensive check. It doesn’t assess the engine, for example, or any other mechanical component.
Harratts Mitsubishi offers a free Vehicle Health Check with every MOT test. We take a look over the whole car, including all the bits and bobs that the MOT doesn’t cover.
We’re proud to be an approved Mitsubishi dealership, and as a result we’re able keep genuine Mitsubishi parts in stock. If we don’t have the part you need, we’ll make sure it comes in on next day delivery.
Our technicians know Mitsubishi cars inside-out. They receive regularly training to ensure they’re up-to-date on the latest developments and changes – so you can rest assured that your Mitsubishi is in the safest of hands.
